Merry Christmas to ME. It’s been so long since I’ve been pampered like this! :)
Purple Saphire Gel at the salon.
So after yesterday’s travel day from hell…
Up at 5am only to be in Mexico by 11am and wait for my next flight at 7pm only to get it delayed to 8pm. (Longest layover of my life? I think yes.)
I’m finally home!!
(insert celebratory marching bands and firework display here)
I ended up drinking my weight in calorific drinks. Including one presidente margarita from the Chili’s at the airport in Mexico, STARBUCKS (how I’ve missed thee!) - I got a caramel macchiato and the boy surprised me with a peppermint mocha…both ventis. Yeah… Plus I had diet soda as well (just so you know I went TWO WEEKS without any diet soda, so kudos to me). And a cappuccino. Oh man yesterday was bad in the liquid calories department. But hey, considering I spent almost 9 hours in an airport waiting to leave I would say no biggie. All is well.
I’m weighing in at 134 lbs this morning.
I’m also stuck In Guatemalan time mode. So even though I didn’t go to bed til 4am California time, I’m up at 7am because that means it’s 9am in Guate and I NEVER get to sleep in past 8:30. Granted I did sleep a bit on the plane.
But alas, I’m so happy to be home. I can’t wait to go running at sea level and see all my familia. :)

Finally seeing the numbers drop a bit!
Since I board the bus bright and early tomorrow morning this will probably be my last weigh in until after Christmas. Or maybe I’ll sneak in a quick weigh in before the crack of dawn bus tomorrow.
So all in all, I didn’t make my goal of being pre-half marathon (132.0 lbs) weight before going home for Christmas. But I wasn’t too far off! I’m not going to beat myself up over it as it is the holidays and all!

As a golden rule you should stay away from all things lettuce in Guate. Unless you disinfect it first, but really that’s a pain in the ass and I always taste the lingering bleach.
BUT, when I’m home for Christmas I’m going to EAT ALL THE SALAD.
With fancy cheeses.
Dressings that have nothing to do with Mayonnaise of any kind.
Ooh like champagne pear vinaigrette.
Greek olives.
Fresh tomatoes!
Artichoke hearts.

Oh my god, I’m having a salad orgasm over here. A sorgasm? Salorgasm?

Flashback Friday.
The year is 2009.
My friends and I are on a cruise to Cabo San Lucas and it’s Halloween night. This Chippendales dressed fellow surprises me last minute by motor-boating me for the photo.
I have no idea how much I weighed here (easily over 230+lbs), but I do know that I refused to wear a costume that year because I was too embarrassed.
So Guatemala is officially in vacation mode (meaning absolutely no work to be done) and I’m just counting down the days until I get to come home to visit (t-minus 6 days!!). So I’ve been of course making the most awesome toilet paper roll crafts EVER.
Case in point:
This lovely wall hanging that I found here.
So over the course of the last couple days, I constructed this pretty flower like wall decoration.

(You can’t tell, but that’s my Jesus table hahaha)

Pounds of glitter, tons of toilet paper rolls, mountains of glue, a bajiliion clothes hangers, and about twenty bobby pins later it was finished!

Oh and I also made this bad boy.

Toilet paper rolls are AWESOME.

My time was awesome at 9:35 ish, but I felt as if my lungs were going to explode.
I hate high altitude.
Now cleaning my room, blasting Christmas music and drinking hot berry green tea. Yum.
Can’t wait to run when I get home though. Sea level here I come!
